Vernetztes
Studium Chemie (VSC)
Based on a model ("Würzburger Modell") designed for a reformed chemical education
and developed by the German Chemical Society (GDCh), an electronic
platform shall be implemented, rendering the available chemical knowledge
in an optimally accessible, crosslinked, and utilizable form for education.
The electronic platform represents a closely knit network of knowledge
modules through which, depending on the different educational requirements,
it is possible to navigate selectively (teaching and learning trajectories).
Knowledge modules are developed at 13 German universities coordinated
by the FIZ Chemie Berlin. At
the University of Tübingen modules containing kinetics of chemical
reaction and an interactive learning interface are designed by the
Institute of Physical and Theoretical Chemistry (Prof.
Gauglitz). The Department of Computer Architecture participates
in developing multimedia applications for statistics and artificial
neural networks.
