6DOF Input Device


In this research project we develop an input device for all six degrees of freedom. The device allows the user to manipulate virtual 3D Objects fast and intuitively.

Patent Pending

An international patent application for the device/method has already been filed by the University of Tübingen.

Technology Offer

The device is offered to industrial partners officially by the University of Tübingen. Interested parties are invited to contact the Technology Transfer Office. A description of the offer is given in EKUT-0239_Tech_Offer_01.pdf.

Prototype

The prototype of the handheld device features four infrared marker LEDs, which are tracked by a single smart camera. The full pose of the device, i.e. position and orientation, is calculated on an 8 bit microcontroller. No PC is needed for the calculation. 6DOF Prototype
